Infographics

This week, we are going to be looking at another way to present the findings of our research.  We are always keen to present our learning in interesting and engaging ways and Infographics might be the perfect tool in some cases. Infographics provide visual summaries of a series of facts.  They tell a story with words and pictures.  They are harder to create than you might think as they require lots of preparation of facts (research), sorting of information (analysing), planning for presentation (presenting).

Infographics could be used as a great way to summarise our learning - we will look for opportunities when they would be just the tool we need.

Here are some links to browse to explore the potential of Infographics

We wonder if any of our blogging friends have made their own Infographic?  What tool did you use to make them?  Do you have any tips for us?

  2. Very happy to see you using infographics with your classes. I can definitely attest that they are harder than they look. It is important to collect data and research before starting and look at examples for ideas. Good luck! Karis

  3. It is great to see you using infographics with your students. I can definitely attest that they are harder to make than it seems. It will be important to conduct research and collect data and have a plan. Looking at examples online is also useful. Good luck!

    1. Well said Mairead, I believe you have summed it up very well (You will be good at making Infographics - as they require the ability to summarise)

I look forward to seeing what you prepare. Remember, the research is the most important. Good luck!

  6. Hi,
I think that infograms will really help our learning but won't we appropriate for some topics that are more detailed such as overall history as it is a broad topic. Something like an animal (maybe a cheetah) would be a good topic because it is specific and would be good for pictures.
I think that infograms would be suitable for something like a plan or a timeline or topics that have many visual ways of showing it e.g. Graphs, diagrams or even drawings.
I think that it is great that you can make one on different devices even word or publisher
I think that I will use infograms in the future as it is an organised way of showing information in a fun way.

  8. Hi guys, this sounds like exciting stuff! What tools are you planning on using to create your infographics? I think my 5/6's would be very interested to see what you come up with and how you did it. I will definitely be dropping by again soon to see what you were able to come up with!
    Good luck!

    1. Thanks Mary,
We left it open to the students to see when an Infographic might be the right tool. We talked about making them on paper, using Word, Publisher or maybe even some of the sites and Apps that help make Infographics. The teachers will be excited when we see what the students decide.
Thanks for stopping by ...... (and commenting)
